I’ve struggled to get through Thaler’s and Sunstein’s Nudge in which they discuss libertarian paternalism. The first third was OK, but it started being a drudge
when talking about pensions. This book has stimulated quite a few discussions on the blogs [here, here, here, here].
Given that government will interfere and regulate just about anything I’d much prefer a nudge to a rule. On the spectrum of nannying it seems a little more digestable. I guess that’s a pragmatic stance.
